The Upper House in Hong Kong is a brand new high-end boutique hotel. Huge, amazingly decorated rooms with all kinds of gadgets (iPod Touch as hotel directory, Illy Coffee Machine) and great views.

China cares for its smokers - free lighters at Hongqiao airport!

At the airport you have to hand in your lighters when going through customs, but after landing at Hongqiao airport you can choose another one from the ones that were confiscated there. A nice service for smokers :)

Opposite House is a very cool design hotel in the middle of Sanlitun. I'm not staying here, but it might be a good option for my next trip (if prices are within my budget, will check that later)
